Situation/Problem: Aligning experience design, research, and front-end UI development to two global business portfolios. Developing appropriate staffing model, incorporating and aligning user-centered design, research, and formative/iterative experience design, into a scaled Agile SDLC (SAFe). Introducing KPIs, metrics, and key outcomes-driven performance model.
My Role: Directing the UX/UI function, I addressed the situation/problem by highly collaborating with senior product and software leadership, and extended functional leadership, including Product, BA/PO, PMO, Architecture, Engineering, DevOps, and QA. Created a vision and mission. Organized the team into 3 overlapping disciplines, UXR – Research & Strategy, UXD – Design, UID/E – Front-end Engineering. Introduced and integrated user-centered and data-driven processes into a scaled Agile development environment. Organized staff based on business priorities and functional goals. Created and aligned a cross-functional program team to address business viability, user desirability, and technology feasibility.
I managed all aspects of incrementally implementing the model, staffing, communication, influencing and education, gaining buy-in, process development, training, onboarding, mentoring, and coaching within UX/UI and across functions.
Result: Successfully implementing, leading, and managing this model. Significantly growing revenue and scalability for the business, while increasing user-centricity and UX maturity by 17%.
